Meeting is Tuesday (and another review...)

Ok, folks, we meet to discuss Elizabeth Costello this Tuesday night at 6 PM.
We will be in the new lounge (bldg. 462- near the gym and medical building on Bell Ave.-- see map).

Not that I think you should read tons of book reviews, but here's one that talks about the relationship between the character Elizabeth Costello and J.M. Coetzee. In any novel, this is a question worth thinking about, but its particularly interesting for this book. One should know for example, that many of the chapters were delivered as speeches by Coetzee in conferences on the topic that Coetzee has Costello give a speech about! Is Coetzee being his ever ellusive self by doing this? James Wood thinks not.

Update... link to Wood essay seems to be up and down. Here's another review essay that references the Wood review. I haven't read it that carefully, but I think I disagree with most of what he says...
